Cyndee Pennington, general manager for Pensacola Bay Center, announced today the promotion of long time employee, Michael Capps.
"Michael is an invaluable asset to this facility. He has proven his ability and willingness to go the extra-mile ever since day one. We are excited to have him as a part of our upper management team, " stated Pennington.
Michael landed in Pensacola by way of his family's military travels and has considered Pensacola his home since 1985. The University of West Florida graduate holds a bachelor's degree in Sports Management and was named outstanding alumni of the year in 2006 for the division of Health, Leisure and Exercise Science.
Michael has been with SMG at Pensacola Bay Center since 2004, working in the various areas of event management.
"From commencement ceremonies to chart toping concerts and Presidential visits, it's been a privilege to work with a lot of great people with SMG in Pensacola. I'm thankful for the opportunity and look forward to an expanded role in taking our event services to the next level to better serve our clients, patrons and community," commented Capps. Michael volunteers his time with the American Cancer Society, serves on the board of directors with the Pensacola Sports Association and is a Leadership Pensacola class of 2011 Alumni.
